In this posting I will summarize my thoughts about what I would do if I was Satan. Considering his incredible success in the church realm, would I change anything? Like Satan, I would own the entire world and everyone and everything in it (Lk. 4:5-7/2 Cor. 4:4), with the exception of a minutely few spiritual die-hards who refuse to leave the Biblical God and join the rest of humanity being swept along by my river of self-serving sewage as it flows down into my soul-killing abyss. I could live with owning the church in general. A few escapees would not bother me.
If I was Satan I would encourage those who want nothing to do with me to carry on, to stay the course, to go with the global flow. Being my possessions by fiat, I would instruct them to keep living the way their ancestors have lived for thousands of years. After all, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” From my perspective as Satan, the world would not be broken in that it not only belonged to me, my five billion God-rejecting puppets would continue to operate according to my will. I, the ultimate puppet master, would have them invent ever more ways to serve me as they stumble ever deeper into spiritual darkness. Their being low-hanging fruit, I would have no problem collecting them and training them to live the way I want them to live–IN SERVICE TO ME.
If I was Satan I would encourage their church brethren to follow in their footsteps relative to their religious lives. Having lured their church-going ancestors away from God some 1900 years ago, I would have no reason to affect a change. Because the church isn’t broken from Satan’s perspective, why would I want to fix her if I was him? Because I would own the ancient whore and her harlot daughters (Rev. 17:1-5), I would exercise total control over them, just as he does. As is the case now, I would speak and my parishioners would obey. The method by which my mentor deceived Adam and Eve has worked perfectly for six millennia, so why would I even think about changing it? I wouldn’t. After all, only a fool tinkers with perfection.
Due to their ancestral religiousness and their “That’s what I was always taught. Billions of people have believed it for thousands of years, so it must be true” mentality, church people have been low-hanging religious fruit which Satan has gathered as easily as Eve plucked the forbidden fruit from the forbidden tree. And just as she gave the spiritual poison to Adam who was with her, Satan’s trusting subjects have passed their poisoned fruit (beliefs and practices) from one generation to the next while assuring them that, “It’s all good.” If I was Satan, I would not touch this fool-proof system.
If I was Satan I would do as he has so successfully done in the past–I would invent ever more effective tools that would allow me ever more access to and power over my victims. I would make my weapons of mass deception ever more easy to possess and use. As has Satan, I would addict them to my mind-destroying instruments. In this way I would be an ever-present force in their lives–exactly as he is. Like him, I would make my instruments of control so addictive that my subjects would be unable to part with them. They would have my instruments of spiritual suicide with them even as they entered the “angel of light’s” church buildings each sun god day to hear his “ministers of righteousness” (2 Cor. 11:13-15) assure them that they were saved, sanctified, born again and rapture-ready. And as soon as they left my citadels of sin they would retrieve their toys and deliver to themselves a much-needed fix. Throughout the following week I would have my parishioners spend hours looking into some type of screen, out of which I would spew forth everything but God’s Word. I would then give them a warm, fuzzy feeling for giving Him a few minutes of their valuable time. Contact with God not being a priority activity, I would have them award Him a brief audience late at night after having stared into a screen for the past four hours. Having done all of the important things and they are tired and sleepy, they would set aside the dregs of their day. After reading a few Bible verses and mouthing a short prayer, they would fall asleep, assured that He is grateful for their sacrifice. In that the devil has his churches solidly under control, if I was him, I would CHANGE NOTHING. After all, why mess with success? L.J.
